Halloween Costume Capelet with Marabou Trim

Full Product Description

This recall involves the Halloween costume, The Capelet with Marabou, by Rubie's. The costume consists of a hooded black capelet with red marabou trim around the hood and shoulders.

The costume is made of 100% polyester with red marabou trim. It can be identified by item number 16216 and by the UPC 082686162166. The costume also contains the following Canadian and American manufacturing codes: "CA22649" and "RN66360".

Hazard Identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the marabou trim on the Halloween costume does not meet the requirements for textile flammability under Canadian law.

The Halloween costume could easily catch fire if exposed to a flame or other heat sources such as candles, matches or lighters and cause serious burns to consumers.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this costume.

Corrective Action

Consumers are advised not to let their children wear the recalled Halloween costumes. Consumers may return the product to the place of purchase for a refund or discard of it in regular household waste.

Approximately 46 of the recalled costumes were sold across Canada.
