FÖRSTÅ Coffee/Tea Maker
Joint Recall with IKEA, Health Canada, and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC)
This recall involves the 1L FÖRSTÅ coffee/tea maker by IKEA. The coffee/tea maker is comprised of a handmade clear glass pot, metal holder, and black plastic top and handle. The article number 20149707 and the words "IKEA" and "Made in China" are etched on the bottom of the metal holder.
Pressure from the metal pot holder against the glass pot can potentially cause the glass to break unexpectedly, posing a laceration hazard and a risk of burns to consumers.
IKEA has received two reports in Canada of the glass pot breaking, one where the customer received minor cuts and one with no injury. Worldwide there have been 18 additional reports of the glass pot breaking, with 9 reports of burns from spilt coffee or tea.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians as related to the use of these coffee/tea makers.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled FÖRSTÅ coffee/tea makers and bring them to any IKEA store to receive a full refund.
For more information, consumers may contact IKEA toll-free at 1-800-661-9807 anytime or visit the
